Chat

Catalight is pleased to offer clinician training for the Chat Clinician Program.

This assessment-based certificate program covers all areas needed to become a Chat Clinician. The program covers all Chat modules and introduces clinicians to the concepts, principles and methodologies used in Chat. Clinicians complete learning modules covering all aspects of the Chat curriculum and learn directly from the experts behind Chat’s development. The Chat Clinician Training Program was developed by a multidisciplinary clinical team at Catalight. Speech Language Pathologists, Psychologists, Marriage and Family Therapists, Early Childhood Educators, Early Interventionists, parents and Behavior Analysts worked together to develop Chat based on evidence-based practices and industry-leading research.

This program addresses the needs of children under six and their families. This parent-mediated, naturalistic developmental model focuses on addressing communication, behavior and social development through a routines-based treatment model. Clinicians who receive a certificate in Chat will be ready to implement Chat with families and support the individualized treatment program for their child.

Program Overview

The Chat Clinician Program is an Assessment-based Certification program (ABCP)

The Chat assessment-based certificate program is intended for clinicians working in the behavioral health treatment field and is focused on those treating children ages six and under with autism or intellectual/developmental disability using a naturalistic-developmental model. The Chat Clinician Program’s primary purpose is to train clinicians to implement the Chat program with children and their families. Using a parent-mediated approach, the program is designed around specific learning outcomes that increase the quality and efficacy of a clinician’s treatment and teach clinicians new clinical techniques to promote developmental milestones, sensory profiles, imitation, joint attention, communication, play and family wellbeing. Those who obtain a certificate in the Chat Clinician Program will be able to implement Chat with children and their families. The Chat Clinician Program provides clinicians with the tools for successful implementation of Chat; it is not meant as a replacement for licenses, certifications or degrees required to deliver treatment to this population.

This training and assessment-based certificate program provides clinicians introductory information and context regarding an innovative treatment approach, Chat. The program provides key techniques and strategies to enable a clinician’s success with this empirically based, parent-mediated intervention modality. Chat Clinician Program certificate holders (“Chat Clinicians”), will be providing important treatment to children and families. This training features web-based training modules with assessments for each course, a live training session and a final exam.
