Clinician Tools Practice Guidelines Supporting the unique needs of clients through recommended treatment hours and outcome measures About Our Practice Guidelines The Catalight Research Institute provides these practice guidelines as a resource for clinicians as they create individualized treatment plans for their clients. These studies revealed that higher hours of ABA do not lead to better outcomes for young children with ASD or I/DD; however, they did highlight the overall effectiveness of behaviorally-based interventions across a multitude of targeted skills. Studies also demonstrate the the effectiveness of parent-mediated interventions, empowering caregivers in their everyday lives. Improving the overall wellbeing of clients and their families through the delivery of person-centered care There are many methods to measure ASD treatment outcomes; however, research shows there is a lack of consistency with no established standards. Grounded in the most recent research, our guidelines support clinicians providing community-based applied behavioral interventions treating ASD or related developmental disabilities. The Catalight Research Institute recommends choosing outcome tools that provide a complete outcomes picture, which includes client and family wellbeing. Tools to evaluate aspects of wellbeing, include the Wellbeing Scales, Parental Self-Efficacy Scales, and Parental Stress Scale I/DD. Catalight Practice Guidelines The Catalight Practice Guidelines outline our treatment hours recommendations and outcome measures of behavioral interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities. These guidelines are intended as a resource to help clinicians tailor their decisions to the specific needs of each client. The Catalight Practice Guidelines are grounded in the most recent research, referenced by citations, and will be revised as new studies are published.
